As a 10 year old kid spending my leaf-raking earned money at the corner market for a new pack of Garbage Pail Kids cards I never imagined that I would be painting my own version for an official art show.
That’s right! A GPK art show at Gallery 1988 (of course). I am extremely excited to be in this one! Selected artists have been asked to reinterpret the original GPK characters in their own style. Here is my preliminary sketch for “Meltin’ Melissa/Oozy Suzzy”, a card from the 1st series.
Anyone else remember this? I had that motorcycle/helicopter toy when I was a kid!
